Saudi authorities have made major change in Kingdom's citizenship law. According to amended rule, children of Saudi women married with foreign nationals or expats are eligible to apply for citizenship after the age of 18.
Saudi Arabian relevant authorities gave approval to the amendment to Article 8 of Saudi Arabian nationality system.
Prime Minister has been given the authority for granting citizenship.
Article 8 of Saudi Citizenship System reads as:
" A person who is born in the Kingdom to a foreign father and a Saudi mother may be granted Saudi Citizenship if certain requirements are met."
Requirements for Saudi Citizenship :
1. Fluent in Arabic
2. Permanent residence status in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia when comes of legal age.
3. Having sound character and good conduct.
4. Should not have criminal convictions or imprisonment not exceeding than six months for any indecent act.
