Pakistan won Ist test match against Sri Lanka at Galle International Stadium

Pakistan won Galle test by four wickets. Saud Shakil won man of the match award courtesy to his double hundred who is first Pakistani player to score double hundred in Sri Lankan grounds.



Prabath Jayasuria created problems for Pakistan with his threatening deliveries and claimed early crucial wicket of Captain Babar Azam in innings 21st over who again failed to add much needed score to team's total.
Babar Azam scored 13 runs on 16 balls in first innings of the match while in 2nd innings he scored 24 runs on 28 balls on tough  wicket of Galle International Stadium. 

Earlier when Pakistan started his 2nd innings on 4th day then Sri Lankan sppiner Prahbath Jayasuria never give opportunity to Pakistani batsmen to stay at wicket and put Pakistan under pressure by claiming two wickets. Pakistan was 48/3 at the end of play.


Imam ul Haq is playing confidently to Sri Lankan spinners alongwith Saud Shakil,  double hundred maker in Ist innings, to steer Pakistan to victory. 

In the meanwhile Saud Shakil lost his wicket when Pakistan was inches away from victory on excellent delivery of Ramesh Mendis after scoring 30 runs on 38 balls.

Sarfarz Ahmad showed needless anxiety and got out while sweeping the ball. Sarfarz Ahmad's wicket claimed by prabath Jayasuria. 

After the Saud Shakil wicket,  wicket keeper Sarfraz Ahmad comes to the crease and with Imam ul Haq and got Pakistan to fabulous victory and excellent start to world test championship 2023-25.

On very very tough pitch Imam ul Haq played matured innings of his career to take to victory when wickets were fallen around on regular intervals. 

He scored valuable fifty to take Pakistan to victory.

Saud Shakil is the is star of this test match who played fabulous knock of 208 being the Ist Pakistani batsman to score double hundred in Sri Lanka. 



Pakistan tour of Sri Lanka's 2nd test match will be played at Colombo from 24 to 28 July 2023.
