Pakistan on winning track after Saud Shakil's double ton

Pakistani middle order batsman Saud Shakil played a memorable knock at Galle International Stadium against host Sri Lanka in Ist test by making double ton, 208 runs.


Saud Shakil is the first Pakistani batsman who made double hundred in Sri Lanka. Earlier Muhammad Hafiz made 196 runs against Sri Lanka four short of his double hundred.


Saud Shakil's double hundred paved the way for Pakistan's victory in Ist test as Pakistani batsmen piled up 461 runs all out against Sri Lanka's 312 taking lead of valuable 149 runs against host Sri Lanka. 


Apart from Saud Shakil , Agha Salman also played responsible knock and scored 83 runs by facing 113 balls.


On third day's play Agha Salman was first batsman who got out by Ramesh Mendis when Pakistan's score was 278/6.


Nauman Ali scored valuable 25 runs on 57 balls and got out by Ramesh Mendis when team's score was 330/7.


Shaheen Afridi made 9 runs  got out by Vishwa Fernando at the score of 236/8.


Naseem Shah 6, stood with Saud Shakil like a rock and made partnership of 94 runs and got out by Ramesh Mendis at the score of 440/9.


Last wicket of Abara Ahmad fell at 461 runs while Saud Shakil remained not out 208 runs making g history at Galle International Stadium by making double hundred as earlier no batsman  could reach to double hundred in Sri Lanka. 



Sri Lankan bowler Ramesh Mendis claimed 5 wickets, Prabth Jayasuria took 3 wickets, Vishwa Fernando  and Rajitha took one wicket apiece. 



At the end of 3rd day's play Sri Lanka scored 14 runs without loss. Forth day play will resume at 9:30 am tomorrow.
