Shaheen Afridi shines at Galle International Stadium



Pak vs Sri lanka- Ist test


Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first in Ist test match of two matches series playing at Galle International Stadium. 


Shaheen Afridi who put on white uniform after a year break was anxious to reach the 100 wickets milestone which was delayed due to his knee injury.

Pace ace Shaheen Shah Afridi inflicted Sri Lanka earlier loss in innings 3rd over by claiming wicket of opener N. Madushka at 4 and innings total was 6 runs.


Wicket keeper Sarfraz Ahmad took a diving catch to his right of Dushka to get early wicket of the host team.


By taking wicket of opener Dushka in his 2nd over, Shaheen Shah Adridi also reach much awaited  💯 wickets mark in his 26 test match.


Sri Lankan batsmen couldn't stay before Shaheen Shah Adridi's pace and lost four wickets at the score of 54.


Then Angelo Mathews and Dananjaya De Silv put up resistance against Pakistani pace and took score to 185 when Angelo Mathews caught and bowled behind the wickets by Abrar Ahmad after scoring valuable 64 runs.


Dananjaya De Silva is at 94 runs, six short of his memorable 100.


Rain stopped the play many times. 

At the end of first day's play Sri Lanka scored 242 runs at the lost of 6 wickets in 64.5 overs.


Shaheen Afridi grabbed 3 crucial wickets very early in the innings to stop Sri Lanka from piling up big score. While Agha Salman, Abrar Ahmad and Naseem Shah took one wicket each.

Out of six wickets fell first day, pace bowlers took four.


2nd day's play will resume at Pakistan standard time 9:30 am. Live match is telecasted on Tensport, tampad and tamasha.
