Caretaker Punjab cabinet approved 35% increase in salary of the Punjab government employees serving in grade 1-16 while 30% pay has been increased of those officers working in grade 17-22.
Punjab cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi also approved 17.5% hike in pensions.
It is important to mention here that pay of the employees has been increased on current basic pay.
Earlier caretaker Punjab government approved 30 percent pay Increase for all employees which was rejected by employees' unions.
But later Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif talked with Punjab caretaker chief minister Mohsin Naqvi for increasing the Punjab government employees pay according to federal government and other provinces.
On the interference of federal government, CM Mohsin Naqvi assured to review the case in next cabinet meeting.
On 22 July caretaker cabinet okayed pay hike equal to federal government.
