Second test match between Sri Lanka and Pakistan started at scheduled time at Singhalese Sports Club Colombo.
Sri Lankan captain D. Karunaratne won the toss and opted to bat first on a flat pitch favouring sppiners on 4th and 5th day of the match.

Pakistani fielders exhibited excellent fielding skills and claimed first wicket of Sri Lankan opener N. Madushka by excellent direct throw of Shan Masood.
Sri Lanka's first wicket fell at 9 in innings 3rd over.
Sri Lanka's second wicket fell at the score of 23 when Shaheen Afridi got wicket of Kushal Mendis.
Sri Lanka lost his 3rd wicket at score of 35 on the bowling of Naseem Shah and catch taken by Sarfraz Ahmad behind the wickets.

Sri Lanka's 4th wicket fell at the score of 36.
5th wicket fell at team's score of 121 while 6th wicket 122 runs.

Sri Lankan team all out in 48.4 overs after scoring 166 runs.
Today Naseem Shah bowled delivries at dead accurate line important wickets before lunch while Shaheen Shah Adridi grabbed 1 wicket.
After lunchtime Naseem Shah grabbed one more wicket taking his wickets total to three.
Mystery spinner took 4 wickets while prabath Jayasuria and Madushka got run out.
Star Sri Lankan batsman Dananjaya, century maker of Ist test match, is playing sensibly and scored 57 valuable runs.
Pakistani batting
Pakistan lost early wicket when Imam ul Haq catch out on the bowling of Asitha Fernando at 13 score.
Shah Masood and Abdullah Shafique played strokes freely all the ground opposite to Sri Lankan batsmen who faced difficulties to score runs.
Shan Masood got out at 51 in just 47 balls.
Abdullah Shafique played fabulous knock of 74 runs on 99 balls while Babar Azam scored 8 runs not out.
Ist day's play was terminated due to bad light while 13 overs were yet to be bowled.
Pakistani squad
Pakistani team management made no change in his team and kept intact the winning team of first test match played at Galle International Stadium.
Pakistan won first test match by four wickets taking 1-0 lead in two match series. By winning Galle's test match Pakistan became most successful visiting team in Sri Lanka.
Totally Pakistan won 10 test matches at Sri Lankan grounds while Sri Lanka won seven matches being host team.
Pakistan had made a solid start to the cycle of world test championship 2023-25 by beating Sri Lanka and also
gained 12 points.
It is important to note that Australia had won the last world test championship by beating India.
First world test championship had won by New Zealand by beating India. Twice India reached world test championship final but never won. Pakistan ended his world test championship at seventh position while Sri Lanka 5th.
